In Italian “PIANTE / SPARSE” literally means “scattered plants” and this is how this wine was made. They do not have an entire vineyard of white grapes, but in their old vineyards of red grapes, the ancestor planted, here and there, vines of white grapes.
Mainly Carricante, but also Catarratto as well as more few native grape vines like Minnella Bianca, Zibibbo and others. With tremendous work, we mapped them, understanding how to lead them to a dedicated, separate harvest to produce a very classy white wine.
Acidity, freshness and a prominent mineral body are the main characteristics of its personality. Timing is everything in the production of this wine: guessing the perfect ripening moment of all the different plants of the different grape varieties. This is why it is a very rare wine, produced only in the best vintages and just in case of perfect balance in the grapes.

Nestled in a spectacular landscape, it takes advantage of the region's unique volcanic terroir, characterized by mineral-rich soils. The vines benefit from a Mediterranean climate, with influences marked by altitude and proximity to the volcano, which makes it possible to produce wines with great finesse and aromatic complexity. The cantina focuses on indigenous grape varieties, such as Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, seeking to produce wines that tell the story of their unique origin through every sip.
